       The College of Teachers’ Education (B.Ed.) Dhakuakhana, the premiere teacher Education institution was established in the year 1998, under Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh, Assam. The institution was completely founded with the full physical and financial support by the common people of the flood affected region of Dhakuakhana Sub- Division (to the Northern bank of the river Brahmaputra, Assam). This College has been imparting teacher training to Pre- service and in service teachers with an objective of enhancing quality education. The need for the establishment of a Teacher Education Institution was felt at Dhakuakhana because of ever increasing number of high and higher secondary schools in the nook and corners of the entire region. Indeed, it is an urgent need of the present time for imparting quality education in conformity with the Acts and Rules of the Government.


       The College almost fulfills all the procedures required for starting academic sessions. I must sincerely thank the Department of the Welfare of Plain Tribe, Government of Assam for donating a grant for construction of the College main Building and Dr. Ranee Narah, Member of Parliament for donating a fund under BRGF for construction of the surrounding brick wall.


       After a long gap the institution almost completes all the procedures and paper works in conformity with the NCTE norms and standard. We strongly believe that the institution will be able to start the academic session from 2012 – 13 fulfilling all the standards and norms of NCTE.


       I wish let a new era start with the new academic session which will promote innovative ideas in teaching the educational standard in the backward region as well in the state. Let the institution emerge as a brilliant institution in the global universe.


       I thank each and everyone who extended valuable supports and contributed for the upbringing of the institution in all the aspects.
